Juba complaining of "the game of preconditions" to Khartoum



New York - South Sudan's ambassador to the United Nations Francis Nazario had not been significant progress during the talks between his country and Sudan, which confirmed that he continues to set preconditions in the consultations.

Nazario explained, in an interview to journalists followed the closed consultations held in the UN Security Council, that limited progress has been achieved during the talks between South Sudan and Sudan in Addis Ababa this month.

He said "it was hoped to finalize the security mechanisms and common political after the presidential summit in Addis Ababa to start the application without further delay, but unfortunately the government of Sudan continues to set preconditions and remain flexible in all outstanding matters, which include the establishment of the border region demilitarized and discussions on the disputed areas, and temporary special measures in Abyei, and the resumption of the flow of southern Sudan's oil in the territory of Sudan. "

Nazario stressed that his country has exercised restraint and had shown flexibility in dealing with outstanding matters after independence.

He said that the international community urged the Sudanese government to implement the commitments they have undertaken, and added that the Government of Sudan continues to ignore the peaceful coexistence between the two countries.

Referred to he held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa meeting between the presidents of Sudan and Southern Sudan to discuss how to implement the agreements signed between the two sides in late September last year.
