Peanuts…… to Increase the National Product and Support Economy
Khartoum - Peanuts returned strongly to the international markets in Europe , Asia and Latin America , while State of North Kordfan had exported more than 6.000 tons of Peanuts during the last three months of the this current year.
Sudan is the second country to export peanuts in the world after USA and the first producer of this crop in Africa and Arab world. The Peanuts butter is used frequently in cooking the Sudanese food even as it is usde largely in the commercial manufacture of pies, sweets and products of bakeries.
Peanuts is one of the main summer crops in the new land, that often needs a sandy or a yellow- colour soil .The crop gives a fast cash revenues to the farmer. Thus it is better to follow the system of Bi- or triple cycle to cultivate the peanuts and to gain good results in a short time
Peanuts is one of the important export crops, while 65-70% of the product is consumed locally and 30 - 35% export to the Europe and Arab countries.
Director of the Authority of Sudanese Metrology and Standards in the state of North Kordufan Eng. Abu- Yazeed Al-Tayeb disclosed that there are rapid increases in exporting the Sudanese Peanuts, while it registered the first rate in export list.
During the first quarter of this year, 6554 tons of Peanuts was exported in addition to 192 tons of Roselle crop in a rate of 13%o f um the total exporting while the Gum Arabic production reached to 924 tons , equivalent of 10%" said Eng. Al-Tayeb and added great progress was achieved in the export sector through enter ingthe Europe markets to import the peanuts.

The return of exporting the Peanuts to the regional and international markets in Germany, Switzerland and Indonesia resulted due to the efforts exerted by the federal ministry of agriculture in the ministry; declared Eng. Al-tayeb and explained that more than 30.000 tons form different crops were exported to the other cities in the country.
Concerned bodies in the Agricultural Revolution asserted their keeness to cultivate Peanuts in the State of Khartoum, where the administration of Agriculture Researches accomplished number of explanatory- fields in North Khartoum
They pointed to treat the fields with the modern technology of both kinds of chemical and organic fertilization to improve the soil prosperities and to raise the production which plants for first time in these regions. Explanatory- fields targeted to change from depending on only one crop to cultivating more crops including Peanuts, which contribute in fertilizing the soil and to improve the farmer's economic condition.
